My Trekking Trip

20/9/2019

This was my first but the best trekking trip ever.
Our school had organized a trekking trip to Valpoi, we (40 students) went along with 4 teachers, 2 guides, and a medical assistance. It was an hour drive from our school. The minute we got down from the bus we were all amazed looking at the huge forest and the greenery round us. We then had to walk through muddy water, stones, rough terrain, narrow paths etc. Many of us fell down due to the slippery path but none of us were injured. For many of us it was a nice walking experience.
We had our first halt at a stream where we stopped to have our breakfast. After some time we were taken to four beautiful waterfalls they all were outstanding. When we reached the first waterfall, the instructors told us to change our clothes so that we could enter the water. We enjoyed swimming, clicking pictures and having fun in the waterfall. The second water fall had a slide like structure. Some boys sat on it to slide down. Then we went to the top part of that waterfall from where we could get a great view of the surroundings, some boys caught fish, some enjoyed swimming in the water and some splashed water at each other. After playing we had our lunch.
We had a lot of fun during this trip. We learnt a lot about nature and the wonders of a forest. We learnt to share our food and not to dirty the environment. We mixed around and even had fun with our stern but friendly teachers. We thank our teachers and guides for taking and bringing us back safely.

We are family. That person that you thought you hated the most, even that is family. That person who stole your car or your girlfriend is also family. There is a reason why you hate her and it goes beyond the lesson. You are paying for something you owe the universe and life is really practical and fair. If you are going to fervently pray or ask God nicely to lessen the intensity of your kharmic debts, I swear He will hear you. As for the person you have wronged, if he is God loving, he must have forgiven you already and wish you no harm.

It sounds like an epic first trek! Navigating muddy trails, exploring waterfalls, and swimming around is the kind of hands-on nature experience every trekker needs early on. Loved how you mentioned learning about respecting the environment too, that is key. Keep it up, and here is to many more adventures ahead!
