Library renovation project: “A LIBRARY IS AN ARENA OF POSSIBILITY,OPENING BOTH A WINDOW INTO THE SOUL AND A DOOR ONTO THE WORLD.” A very exciting and much needed project undertaken during the jubilee year was the renovation of the library. As technology has advanced and become a part of everyday life, we realized that reading has taken a backseat for our boys. Renovating the library, making it more bright, colourful and attractive to our boys was the motive behind this project. And we are proud to say that we have succeeded in doing so. Everyday, boys are coming into the library with smiling faces ..This was indeed a humble attempt to rekindle the joy of reading in our boys. The PTA and the Management of St .Britto High School, would like to thank all the parents and well wishers who have contributed towards this project. We also would like to specially thank Architect Sumedh Naik who has given his precious time, ideas and wholehearted efforts in designing this library.
Project no 6: FIRST AID ROOM At St. Britto High School, playground is like a cradle of joy to the thousand five hundred plus boys who come to the school. Though there is ample of place to play, there is also enough opportunity to pick up an injury too. An urgent need was felt to have a First Aid room for the school. Come the summer break and work began on the much needed First Aid Room. The management of St. Britto High School and the Jubilee Committee would like to thank Dr. Esmarch and Dr. Priya de Sousa for sponsoring this First Aid Room. Injuries will come and go, but the school will be able to offer some care and comfort to the boys through this project.
In its Jubilee Year, celebrating 75 glorious years in dedicated service, St Britto High School bore a new look. Come June 5 and the students were pleasantly surprised to see that the school pretty much looked like them. The Blue and Grey was all over. Keeping in mind the ongoing Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, the Jubilee Committee with the help of the generous donations made by the parents took up the job of giving the exterior of the school a much needed facelift with a fresh coat of paint. Britto colours were the theme. A deliberate attempt to cement that bond between a Britto Boy and his alma mater. For the first time the boys saw their house colours boldly displayed for all to see. To a stranger it may need some explanation but to every Britto Boy it all makes sense and brings home the message that Britto was, is and will always be Home.
St. BRITTO HIGH SCHOOL PLATINUM JUBILEE YEAR 2023, Project no 4: Jesuit education and aesthetic values. The art work done by Mr. Savio attempts to help students to leave the planet a little greener, a little cleaner and more peaceful for generstions to come.
Project no.3: One of the promising projects of the Platinum Jubilee Year 2023 is the washrooms for the primary section. Those who are aware of the logistics of the Primary building will find the toilets on the top most floor which houses the classes for std 3 A,B and C. Thanks to the PTA for suggesting this project and special thanks to Ms. Ana Clara for raising funds for this project.
PROJECT NO.2 : REPLACEMENT OF WATER TANKS We are glad to have completed our second project..The water tanks were built almost 40 yrs back. They have stood the test of times and served their purpose. The difficulty was to clean and maintain these tanks due to their eccentric position. Hence, it was decided to change these tanks as a Jubilee project. The PTA and management of St Britto High School would like to thank the parents of Jadon,Samuel and Raphael Remedios( Primary Boys) for sponsoring the water tanks. We appreciate their noble gesture. ANOTHER DREAM PROJECT IN PROGRESS.
After installing the solar plant it was planned to make the life of our students more comfortable in class. Hence, it was decided to have a canteen day once a month and the income generated will be spent to increase the fans from two to four in each class and to five in bigger classes. It was also decided that two fans and the lights will be connected to the backup system. While the secondary side is work is near completion the work for the school office, staff room, science lab, and the primary wing will commence soon. Our main aim is to slowly put a backup system for all the fans thus making good use of the solar plant. We thank the OBA, parents and benefactors for their generous contribution towards this project. It has encouraged us to start this project faster than expected. We hope we will continue to get such support so that our larger dreams may be fulfilled. We thank the electricians for working after school hours till late in the evening. Short report (By Bro.
