CHRISTMAS ASSEMBLY (22 Dec).
A special Christmas assembly was held this morning in school. It began with a prayer service, a tableau, singing of Christmas carols, one each in English, Konkani, Marathi and Hindi, Christmas dance and the entry of Santa Claus. This was followed by half an hour programme put up by students in their respective classes.
STAFF MEET TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS TOGETHER
After a hectic one month of activities the staff met together to celebrate Christmas in the school hall. The staff enjoyed the morning with few party games, spot prizes and keeping their feet tapping with some Christmas songs. The Head master thanked the staff for their support, co-operation and team work. They now look eagerly forward to the Family Day programme.

SPORTS MORNING HELD (17 DEC)
The much awaited Sports morning was held on the school ground. It was an exciting and fun filled morning.The students enjoyed the event with a true sporting spirit. The highlight of the morning was a relay race between the staff and the school cabinet and a walk race for the ladies.

The sports week will go on till 17 Dec, It is held in the evening from 2.30 to 5 P.M.Every student has to take part in a minimum of two and a maximum of three events. The LIGHTS OF THE WORLD conducted an orientation programme for the students of std VIII and IX.The programme was conducted division wise and spread out within a period of one month. The topics for class 9 were:- Growing up gracefully (changes which take place at the intellectual and emotional level), Human Physical Development, tips for good Hygiene, encountering social evils. The topics for class 8 were :-1. Self esteem. Knowing the inner self and the struggles within me. To see the good that is within. So be aware of the good and the bad within me. To nurture the good and block the bad or the evil will one day outgrow the good within us. 2. Search for a true meaning in life. To look into the positive traits that God has given each one of us and to be aware of our evil tendencies like selfishness, jealousy, etc that will one day destroy the good. FIRE MOCK DRILL HELD IN SCHOOL THIS MORNING (24 Oct) To acquaint the students with fire evacuation norms the school conducted a mock fire drill exercise this morning. This regular practices of fire drill helps prepare the students to respond quickly, calmly and safely. A special assembly was held in the morning informing the students of the important things they need to keep in mind during the fire drill. We thank the fire drill committee for organizing the fire drill exercise.

A unique Education Train Trip ---- TIVIM-KARWAR-TIVIM. 87 students along with 8 staff members went on an educational train trip today.(20 Oct) The main aim of the trip was to appreciate the scenic beauty of Goa and also to allow students who may have not travelled beyond Panaji or Margao to see South Goa upto Karwar. It was a unique experience.We thank the railway staff for helping us during our journey..

SCIENCE AND MATHS EXHIBITION
The school was buzzing and vibrating with the Science and maths exhibition that was held in the school hall on 16th and 17th Oct.The budding young scientist and mathematicians displayed all their skills and put up various projects. The exhibition was well appreciated. We thank the science and maths clubs for organising this exhibition.
Fancy dress competition held for U.KG
The theme of the fancy dress was "Trees and plants and Healthy Food". Through the Fancy Dress the students were made to realise that they need to preserve God's creation by growing more trees and to eat Healthy Food in order to remain healthy

The scouts of our school took part in a rally around Mapusa. The main theme of the rally was "Green Mapusa,Clean Mapusa".
Our students from the consumer club staged a street play in 6 different places in Mapusa on the topic " No to plastic".
The monthly cleanliness drive was held in our school today.
Swatch Bharat..Cleanliness drive because WE ARE ENVIRONMENT CHAMPS Our KG students were taken around the campus by their KG teachers.The purpose was to learn about keeping the campus clean.They were also shown the different types of dustbins and how the waste is segregated into each dustbin.
EcoBuds CELEBRATE SAVE TREE! SAVE EARTH! DAY The EcoBuds of St.Britto celebrated the Save Tree, Save Earth day by displaying the rakhis designed and prepared by them. As a token of appreciation for whatever trees are doing to us the students bowed and hugged each tree before tying a rakhi to the tree and later on took an oath that they will protect and plant more trees. This was held inorder to celebrate our inter-connectedness, inter relatedness and interdependence by tying rakhis to each tree and fostering the bond of love and protection SAVE TREES! SAVE EARTH!. Fr.Simon Fernandes (chairman of the school) in his short speech encouraged and motivated the students to save trees and to grow as many trees as possible inorder to save and protect our mother earth.
CHART MAKING COMPETITION Inter class chart competition was held in school on 10 Sept. The main topic of the chart competition was- Ganesh Utsav:- "Festival of Values, togetherness and devotion." Celebrating all the festivals helps to foster a spirit of inter religious tolerance and understanding.
HOLY FAMILY, PORVORIM WINS ST. BRITTO QUIZ, 2018 St Britto High School organized a General Knowledge Quiz for the schools of Mapusa and around Mapusa. The quiz was organized by the Quiz club of St Britto in collaboration with the Parents Teachers Association.18 schools participated in the quiz. It began with a written round from which 8 schools qualified for the semi finals ending finally in a 4 team final. The quiz had questions on various topics ranging from math and science to current affairs. Fr. Denzil Rodrigues was the quiz master. The 1st place was secured by Holy Family High School, Porvorim. The 2nd place was secured by G. S. Amonkar Vidyamandir, Mapusa. The 3rd place was secured by St. Ann’s High School, Tivim. The winners received cash rewards, certificates and trophies. Other participants were given participation certificates. In between the students performed a street play on "No to plastic". Mokshad Naik sang a Hindi song.
SOLO SINGING COMPETITION HELD ON 7th Sept 2018 Solo singing competition was held this morning in school. The students were divided into two groups 1. Junior group comprising of stds V, VI and VII stds and the senior group of stds VIII, IX and X stds. The solo singing for the Junior group was held in three categories 1. English 2. Hindi and 3. Any other language. In the senior group it was held in two categories 1. English and 2. Any other language. The competition was tough and the students did a good job in giving their best.
FIELD TRIP HELD ON 1st Sept 2018 Field trip was held on 1st Sept for the students from V- X stds. The V and VIII stds went to the Museum and Central Library in Panaji and Science Centre in Miramar. The Vi stds went to Reis Margos and Fort Aguada. The VII stds went to Old Goa and Big Foot, Loutolim. The IX stds went to Salaulim Dam and the X stds went to the water treatment plant, Assonara and trekked to Raut Farm. The students also cleaned each area before departing from the place.This was a part of the Swaccha Bharat Campaign.
TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION. 5 Sept 2018.
Teacher's day celebration began with the morning assembly. This was followed by a class wise programme, mass and a staff get together. The management and the staff thank the dynamic PTA executive members, parents and students for making the day a memorable one. The owner of butterfingers,Francis Fernandes, surprised everyone and sponsored a cake with a staff photo on it.We greatly appreciate and thank him.
NATIONAL SPORTS DAY OBSERVED IN SCHOOL National Sports Day was celebrated in school today .(29Aug). The day began with a morning assembly organised by the PE masters and few students. Due to the weather conditions few sports were held. Basketball dribbling,throwing the ball, aiming the wickets,push ups. Students from the V-X stds participated in the activities.
SOLO SINGING COMPETITION
Solo singing competition was held for the primary students on 27 August. The students had to sing in english,(First category),hindi (second category),konkani ( Third category) languages.They had to choose any one language. It was nice to listen to the young nightingales. We hope some of them will one day compete later in the 'Voice of Goa' competition.
IQ TEST HELD ON 20/08/2018
Discovery School Super League in collaboration with BYJU'S and the local support of Gomantak Times conducted the Discovery School Super Leaque 2018-19 IQ test for our students from IV to the IX std.Every student was given a certificate of participation.
A workshop was held for the teaching and non teaching staff of the school.The one day workshop was conducted by the Provincial of the Goa Jesuits Fr.Roland Coelho,SJ. The theme of the workshop was," REDISCOVERING CONSTITUTIONAL VALUES AND BECOMING CITIZENS OF THE WORLD".Fr.Roland dealt on the goals, objectives and features of the Preamble of the Constitution. The staff was divided into groups. Each group had to give a 10 minutes presentation through either PPT, song,skit or dance on any one of the goals, objectives or features of the preamble.The staff members expressed their happiness and enjoyed the workshop. Fr.Roland urged the staff to organise assemblies and activities for the students based on the Preamble of the Constitution and help them to Rediscover the Constitutional Values and aim to become good citizens of India and the World.
Independence day was celebrated in school. The programme began with the unfurling of the National flag and singing of the National Anthem.This was followed by the pledge,prayer service, a speech by the Headboy, national integration song, two short skits, distribution of scholarships and prizes.
DENTAL CAMP ORGANIZED FOR THE KG STUDENTS “SUNSHINE SMILE WEEK”
A dental camp based on the saying, ‘take care of your teeth, and they will take care of you” was organized for a week for the KG students. Keeping this in mind, on the last day of the week a dental checkup was conducted by 1. Dr.Sandra Mendonca and 2. Dr.Savionne D’Souza. During the week, the students through poems and craft activities learnt about dental hygiene with happy smiles.
SWACHH BHARAT OBSERVED
Cleanliness drive in the school was observed this morning. The staff and students helped out in cleaning the campus. Care was taken to see that the waste was properly segregated in their respective dustbins.Besides the daily cleanliness, the school observes over all cleanliness once a month.
FEAST OF ST.IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
The feast of St.Ignatius of Loyola was celebrated in school today. The catholic students along with the staff, ex-students and some parents attended the feast mass in the school hall. The main theme of the mass was "St. Ignatius the way of the pilgrim". Fr.Lawry Trinidade, SJ an ex-student of the school was the main celebrant. The non catholic boys had a sketch competition on 1. St.Ignatius of Loyola and 2. Any one topic- 1. School Logo 2. The preamble 3. Creative Logo for the school. The staff later met for a short get-together.
CHART COMPETITION HELD
As part of the preparation for the Feast of St.Ignatius of Loyola a chart making competition on the theme "Walking in the Footsteps of St.Ignatius" was held on 27 July.
CONSUMER CLUB PROGRAMME
St. Britto consumer club organised a morning programme for the members of the consumer club.The topic was " Emerging digital markets issues and challenges in consumer protection" A collage competition was held for the students of the consumer club. An ex student of the school Adv. Mr Eeshan Usapkar gave a talk to the audience which included the SSC students. A street play was held. An elocution competition was held on the same topic. Prizes were given for the various winners.
ORIENTATION FOR L.K.G PARENTS
Parent Teacher Orientation programme for the L.K.G parents was organised by the K.G staff under the guidance of the educational consultant Mrs. Carolyn Fernandes and her assistant Angela Ribeiro. The parents got to know about the new "Learning through activity" methodology implemented in the Pre-Primary.
TALK ON CYBER BULLYING
A talk on Cyber Bullying was held for Std VIII. The talk was held by tr. Genevieve and supported by sirs Conrad and Ian. This is part of a series of Educating to Family Values sessions that is held in our ABE institutions.
DEBATE "NO DETENTION POLICY" A debate was held on 25th July in the school hall on "NO DETENTION POLICY". The student spoke for and against the motion. The judges selected the best speaker and runner-up. The winning team was the one speaking against the motion. When the audience, which consisted of the students of Std VIII & IX, were almost unanimously against the motion.
SECONDARY PTA AGM
The PTA AGM for the secondary parents was held this morning (21/7).The meeting was well attended with the hall being packed with parents. The Eco club presented a PPT on BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION. The Headmaster sincerely thanked the parents for their presence, support and co-operation rendered to the institution.He shared his views on how we as Management,staff and parents can work together for the growth and development of our students today. The headmaster thanked all the outgoing PTA executive members for the valuable support to the institution and welcomed the new PTA executive members.
NOVENA TO ST.IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
In preparation for the feast of our founder St.Ignatius of Loyola, the nine days novena during the morning assembly began this morning. We have started early taking into consideration the Sundays. The staff and students conduct the assembly. Each day has a special theme.The assemblies are conducted under the guidance and direction of the school Jesuits.
POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION Poetry recitation competition was held for the primary students this morning. The students were divided into two categories:- Group 1--Stds 1 and 2. and Group 2---Stds 3 and 4.
KRIPA FOUNDATION CONDUCTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME Kripa Foundation, Anjuna conducted an awareness drive on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for our SSC students this morning. Dr. Ashish Rodricks the main resource person spoke on the ill effects on smoking, drinking and drug addiction. He made the students aware of how a person slowly gets into such addiction. Two of the resource persons Mr Vishnu and Mr Gajanan shared their experiences of how they got into the addiction of alcohol and drug and how they have overcome it after many years. They warned the students to take care of their friend cycle. They also warned the students not to take anything from strangers.
FIRST FRIDAY MASS 1st Friday mass was held for the Catholic students. The mass was based on the theme "What I desire is mercy, not sacrifice".
INTER CLASS CHART COMPETITION
Inter-class chart competition was held on 22nd June, 2018. The topics were on:- 1. Beat Plastic Pollution 2. Class time-table, things prohibited from bringing to school, personal hygiene and class rules to be followed.
MEETING WITH THE SSC PARENTS
A short meeting was held for the parents of SSC students. The meeting focused on the need of the help, support and co-operation of the parents in the academic development of their sons. This in turn would help their sons perform well at the SSC examination. Few teachers enlightened the gathering on the particular requirements of individual subjects.
MENTORING PERIOD ON ECOLOGY
Today during the mentoring period the main theme for the entire school was centered around cleanliness, avoid the use of plastics n on environment concerns. Part of our months ongoing awareness is on preserving mother earth n maintaining it in school. The class teachers also had fruitful discussions of how this can be implemented at home and in school.RO
PLANTING OF TREE SAPLINGS HELD IN SCHOOL
The scouts of Std VIII and IX stds along with their scout masters Sir Shankar and Sir Daya and the support staff of the school planted over 30 tree saplings around the school ground. This was part of the school drive to make the campus more eco friendly by planting more trees in the campus.The month in school is dedicated to cleanliness, segregation of waste, Beat plastic pollution,planting of trees and other competition based on preserving the environment and being eco friendly. The school management wish to thank the Forest Department,Campal,Panaji for generously giving us the samplings. We are also grateful to Mr Martin Carassco member of the Mapusa Municipal Council and a parent of the school for accepting to be the chief guest for the small programme.
U. KG ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
Orientation programme was held for the parents of our U.KG students.The programme began with a short prayer which was followed by an interactive session and games for the parents.
QUIZ COMPETITION HELD. The quiz club organised the Annual school quiz in school this morning (20/6/2018). Those who took part in the quiz had to first answer a written test. The selected students were broken up into two categories. One for the junior category,V,VI and VII std students and the other for the senior category, VIII, IX and X std students. Each group comprised of three students one from each class. The finals for the senior students was conducted by an ex student Mr Amol Vani ( quiz master) who did a good job by asking easy and difficult questions.The school wishes to thank him for the time and trouble taken to organise and conduct the quiz. The quiz team did an excellent job to see that the quiz went on smoothly.

INAUGURAL MASS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR HELD ON 8 JUNE 2018
The inaugural mass for the new academic year was held for the staff and students this morning. Being the feast of The Sacred Heart of Jesus the students were reminded about the values that Jesus practiced and that we need to imitate the heart of Jesus in our lives today.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL The school once again came to life with students all excited to see in which class they were in. The day began with a morning assembly cum prayer service.This was followed by instructions given by the class teachers. The staff got together for a meaningful and prayerful staff meeting which was followed by a simple staff get together. The first day went on peacefully.
Summer Camp Continued...... Training in Skating for our students is in progress. Also training in building self confidence, public speaking and other talent search have began.
SUMMER COACHING IN SCHOOL Summer coaching has resumed soon after the end of exams. Basketball, cricket, football, throw ball, chess, sepak takraw have already started. The rest will begin on Monday. A special coach has been provided in each game.
GOOD FRIDAY MASS
Good Friday service at.st.Britto.Mapusa.It was well organised with excellent parking facilities.A good job done by the ushers and organisors.
STAFF WORKSHOP The staff had a refreshing workshop on 26 March in the school hall.This time the workshop was on all Jesuit charisms. 1.Men and women for others 2.Finding God in all things 3.Curia Personalis:Care for the whole person 4.Faith that seeks Justice 5.Magis. Excellence, the better the more.
The staff was divided into five groups .Each group had to give a 30 minutes Power Point Presentation with an activity and inspirational videos relating to their topic.The staff did an excellent job learnt a lot through their sharing. The Headmaster thanked them for their excellent job and mentioned that they need to put this into practice as teachers.
KG GRADUATION DAY The UKG students had their graduation day on 24th March, 2018.
THANKSGIVING ASSEMBLY The school cabinet conducted the last assembly for the academic year. The theme of the assembly was 'Thanksgiving and gratitude'. A small prize distribution was held for the winners in various events.The scouts also were felicitated for their various contribution to the scout movement. The under 14 cricket team who are Bardez champs was felicitated today. The St. Britto cricket academy is sponsored by Mr Shirish Naik.( ex drawing master of the school) He gave awards to two best cricketers 1. Shoaib Shaikh and 2. Rohit Sopan. The cricket coach Mr.Aditya Naik was present on the occasion and gave away the certificates.A trophy was presented to the school by Mr.Shirish Naik.
The school organised the Swachh Bharat today 20 March 2018. The staff and the students worked together cleaning the campus, the classrooms and the area around the school. The job was well done and enjoyed by all.
CHART MAKING COMPETITION Chart making competition on the topic 'CELEBRATE DIVERSITY IN PEACE AND HARMONY ' was held on Friday, 16 March, 2018. The main aim was to inculcate the spirit of respecting the diverse cultures, religion etc among the students.
THANKSGIVING EUCHARIST A thanksgiving mass was held on Friday,16 March 2018,in the school hall.The theme of the mass was 'IN GRATITUDE WE GLORIFY THE LORD'. Fr. Simon Fernandes, chairman of the institute was the main celebrant.
KG ANNUAL DAY The KG annual day was held today, 10th March in the school hall.The Provincial of the Goa Jesuit province Fr.Roland Coelho, S.J. was present along with Fr.Simon Fernandes, chairman of the institute,parents of the KG students and the staff of the school. The students were trained by the KG teachers under the guidance of Mrs Caroline Fernandes, Angela Rebeiro and Fr.Anand D'Souza,. The lively programme was well appreciated by the parents and those present. The Headmaster said some few words and thanked the parents for their presence,support and co-operation. He also thanked Mrs Caroline, Angela.Fr.Anand and the KG teachers for training the students.
ON SCOUTS TREKKING
The scouts of stds VIII and IX went for a days outing cum trekking to Sal dam and later to Raut farm on 3rd March 2018. There at the Dam they saw the water treatment plant. At Raut farm they had various competitions like salad dressing, chaat making and other competitions. The outing was well appreciated.
AWARNESS RALLY HELD On the occasion of World wild life day, the IX std students of St. Britto High School, Mapusa organized a rally around the streets of Mapusa. The rally also included placards on the following awareness :- No to drugs, wear helmets and seat belts for safety, keep Mapusa city clean, Clean Goa green Goa, Beti Bacho, Beti Padho, Swatchha Bharat, save wild life, say no to plastic, Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, clean Goa ,our Goa. The school is grateful to the Mapusa traffic cell for their help and co-operation rendered in controlling the traffic during the rally.
PASSING OUT PARADE
Passing out parade for the SSC students was held on 17th February, 2018 on the school ground. The passing out parade was well planned and executed.
SSC FAREWELL MASS AND PARTY
SSC farewell mass and party was held on 16th February. The theme of the mass was CELEBRATE DIVERSITY IN PEACE AND HARMONY.This same theme was later taken up for the Passing out parade. The PTA gave a farewell gift to each student.The farewell party was organised by the IX class teachers and the students.
ASH WEDNESDAY CELEBRATED IN SCHOOL
A meaningful ash Wednesday mass was held in the school hall for the catholic boys. Fr.Anand the main celebrant high lighted the importance of ash Wednesday and what each student can do during the season on lent in practicing the three virtues of prayer, penance and charity.
SSC FAREWELL ASSEMBLY The school cabinet conducted their last assembly in school today. The SSC students gifted a 32" monitor to the school which will be used as a CCTV screen.
FEAST OF ST. JOHN DE BRITTO
The feast of our patron saint of the school was celebrated today "03/02/2018". The Catholic boys attended the feast mass. The mass was also attended by the ex - students, parents and well wishers. The main celebrant was Fr. John Fernandes, S.J. The Non - Catholic boys had a sketch competition on St. John De Britto. Cake was distributed to the students. Later, the staff had a small get together.
Republic day celebrated in school. This was followed by the distribution of prizes and scholarships.
An inter house chart competition was held in school on 25 Jan 2018. the topics for the chart competition were 1. Life and Values of St.John de Britto and 2. Republic day.
FANCY DRESS COMPETITION
Fancy dress competition was held on 24 and 25 Jan 2018 for the K.G students. The topic was "Animal Kingdom".The students had to dress on any animal costume.The parents were delighted with their performance.
The Staff of St. Britto high school went for picnic to Heera Farm, Pernem. It was an interactive and an enlightening experience with full of enjoyment and activities.
TALK ON CHILD SAFETY
The students from std 1 to VII had a talk on Child safety.
The tiny tots of St.Britto Kindergarten celebrated the Kite festival with all its colour fun on the school ground.
Our NCC cadets attended the 10 days NCC camp at Shree Bhumika high school , Parye -Sattari, Goa.

Goa Liberation day was celebrated on 19th Dec, 2017. Prizes and scholarships were also given out.

Christmas chart making competition was held on 16/12/17 on the topic "God's Love, Urges Us On". The Primary also had classroom decoration.
CHRISTMAS EUCHARIST CELEBRATED IN SCHOOL TODAY 15/12/2017
In preparation for Christmas, the school organised the Friday morning mass based on the theme "Celebrate the love of Christ". The message of Christmas was brought out through the readings, prayers of the faithful and a meaningful reflection on how we can make the love of Christ known through our words and deeds.
SCHOOL PICNIC School picnic held on 09/12/2017 The students went for the annual school picnic to the following places: L.K.G and U.K.G - Historical Centre, Porvorim. I-IV - Campal Garden V, VI and VII - Keri Beach VIII - Heera Farm IX - Betalbatim Beach X - Raut Farm They were accompanied by the members of the staff. They had an enjoyable experience.
Sports Fiesta 2017 Sports Fiesta was held in school on 08/12/2017 morning. This fiesta was the conclusion of the one week sports activity that was held from 20th November to 8th December.

Counselling Session was organized for the SSC students and their parents by the Psychology Department of St. Xaviers' College Mapusa on 27th November 2017. Earlier the students answered an aptitude test. The results of the aptitude test were given and a one-to-one counselling session was held for the students and their parents.
CHART COMPETITION AND NATURE DRAWING
Chart Making and Nature Drawing Competition was held for our school students in the school on 24th November 2017. The topic was Waste Segregation and Management.
STORY TELLING COMPETITION
Story telling competition was held for the primary students on 23rd November 2017.
'REFUSE DISPOSABLE PLASTIC' AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Bharat Scouts and Guides Bardez District Association organized the REFUSE DISPOSABLE PLASTIC Awareness Programme for the North Goa District Scouts and Guides on 22nd November 2017. Forty of our Scouts participated in this awareness drive. After the awareness drive all the scouts and guides from various schools assembled on the ground for a short programme. Deputy Speaker, MLA Mr. Michael Lobo and other dignitaries attended the programme.
Science Club of our school organised The Science Movement in the school hall from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today (20th November 2017). Dr. I.K. Pai (Goa University) and Mr. Kishore Krishnan (IT Department) from The All India Science Parishad had a talk for the students of VIII and IX standards. They spoke and showed a film on Antarctica and other modern science marvels and thereafter had an interactive session with the students.
BATTLE OF BANDS
The second edition of the Battle of Bands was organised on 18th November 2017 in the school hall. Four bands were selected and competed with each other. Each group had to sing 1 Konkani, 1 English and 1 Hindi/English song. Our young musicians displayed their skills in singing and playing various musical instruments. The school audience were truly entertained.

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION
Children's Day was celebrated on 14th November. The staff put in their heart and soul to entertain the students with an entertainment programme that consisted of a musical item, two dances, a skit and fashion show. The staff and the PTA later gave the students a gift.

FR. PROVINCIAL MEETS THE SCHOOL STAFF
Fr. Roland Coelho, S.J., the new Provincial of the Goa Jesuit Province met the school staff. He enlightened the school staff on the following points: 1. Magis: Excellence, the better, the more. 2. Faith that seeks justice. 3. To seek and find GOD in all things. 4. Cura Personalis: Personal Care. 5. Women and men for and with others.
He thanked the staff for their contribution to the Jesuit Education and urged them to cater to all round development of the students. He also mentioned that we need to take care of the poorer and the weaker students. He also said that, "Success is not measured in terms of wealth that we possess but in what we contribute to the society."
SCHOOL ASSEMBLY ON WASTE SEGREGATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT
The members of the ECO CLUB conducted a morning assembly on WASTE SEGREGATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT. The staff and students were shown how to segregate different types of wastes i.e. wet waste and dry waste; namely - plastic, paper, glass and rubber and metal.
Dance classes for students from L.K.G. to Std. VIII is conducted once a week. The students are trained by, "Snaden Shawn Dance Academy". The much-awaited dance classes are thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
STAFF TRIP TO MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE PROCESSING PLANT AT PILERNE IN SALIGAO
The staff visited the Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant at Pilerne in Saligao. The instructor explained various segregation processes of the plant and the importance of managing the waste. The instructor said that every staff member is responsible for the segregation of the waste.
TREKKING TO POMPURPA SPRING – STANDARD IX
Seventy-five students of Std. IX along with ten teachers went for a 10 - 12 km trekking from Mapusa to Pomburpa Spring. The boys after the long walk refreshed themselves in the cool spring waters and enjoyed the day.
FIELD TRIP TO OLD GOA, MANGUESHI TEMPLE & BIG FOOT LOUTOLIM - STANDARD VII Travelling makes you learn through self experience and always brings excitement. We were fortunate to have such an experience. It was a bright sunny morning on the 12th of October. It was the day for our field trip. Our first stop was at Old Goa. We went for the light and sound show, which featured the life of St. Francis Xavier and St. Joseph Vaz. We also visited the archaeological museum at Old Goa. We saw many inscriptions, rock carvings, tools used by the Portuguese navigators and a gallery of portraits of the Generals and Viceroys of Goa. Our next stop was at the Mangueshi temple. We moved around the beautiful temple complex. The devotion of the people was evident and we were fortunate to witness the same. Our final destination was Ancestral Goa (Loutolim). We were given a glimpse into the Goa of yester years. There we saw the biggest laterite stone carving of Sant Mirabai. We had our lunch in the rubber plantation nearby. This field trip was a truly memorable experience.
FIELD TRIP TO FORT AGUADA AND REIS MAGOS FORT - STANDARD VI
On 13th October 2017, 145 students with 6 teachers went to Fort Aguada and Reis Magos Fort for the field trip. It was a great learning experience for the students as they visited these historical forts. The museum at the Reis Magos Fort helped the students to understand the freedom struggle of Goa as well as the history behind the fort. The students enjoyed their trip.
FIELD TRIP TO CENTRAL LIBRARY & LIGHT AND SOUND HOUSE (OLD GOA) - STANDARD V
Field trips serve one vital function as far as education is concern. St. Britto High school, Mapusa organized a field trip for the students of Standard V on 13th October, 2017. They accompanied by seven teachers. First we visited Central Library. The tall magnificent building captivated the students. The students visited the children’s section, audio-visual section, reference section etc. The students later proceeded to Old Goa. There they saw the sound and light show, based on the life of Jesus Christ, St. Francis Xavier and St. Jose Vaz. It was a wonderful experience. All the students enjoyed the trip. Overall it was an enriching experience.
PRIMARY FIELD TRIP
Students of Standards II, III and IV went on a "Field Trip" to St. Thomas Stephen's Konkani Kendra & Xavier Center for Historical Research Porvorim on 12 October 2017. The students went around the botanical garden looking and writing down the botanical and local names of the various plants and trees.
VISIT TO MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE PROCESSING PLANT, PILERNE – SALIGAO
Around sixty students consisting of representatives from each class, along with four staff members, visited the Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant at Pilerne in Saligao. LIVE JAM AT ST. XAVIER’S COLLEGE, MAPUSA Around 30 of our SSC students went to St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa to attend the musical “Live Jam” session conducted by them. The main aim of the programme was to foster into the students a spirit of fruitful living and social responsibility. The programme through music and testimony was to drive home into the students the message of human values and social virtues which are steadily declining today.
Aakash Institute, Panaji organized a talk for the students of VIII, IX and X stds. The talk was on the topic “Success Path”. They spoke on how through career and success methods the students can associate suitable careers for them through introspection and psychometric assessment.
Every Saturday the primary students have creativity periods. Various skills in art, drawing, craft, vegetable and fruit dressing etc are taught to the students.
Cleanliness Drive was held for the students in the school premises and its surroundings.
SWACHH BHARAT Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Drive was held in the school campus. The teachers took an active part in cleaning the school campus.
TEACHERS' DAY Teachers’ day was celebrated in school on 5 September 2017. The days programme was organized by the PTA and the school cabinet members. The day began with a prayer service. This was followed by an half an hour programme put up in each class. Later the staff gathered in the school chapel for a Eucharistic celebration and thanksgiving. After mass, the staff proceeded to the school hall for a short and entertaining programme put up by the PTA, school cabinet and few students. The staff appreciated the PTA and the students for the well organized programme.
SNAKE SHOW A snake show was organized for our primary students.
FRIDAY MASS Keeping to the all round development, the school also caters to the spiritual needs of our catholic students and staff. The Eucharist is held every Friday in the school hall.The mass is well planned and executed by the liturgy committee.The students are encouraged and motivated to take part actively in the mass response and hymns. During this time the non-Catholics have their V.Ed period in class
CHART COMPETITION Monthly inter class competitions are held on various value based topics and celebration of national days and of various religious festivals and important personalities. The charts are either judged by the teachers or parents. In this way the students inculcate inter religious and cultural tolerance and love for their nation. They also display team work and team spirit. The competition is closely monitored by the respective class teachers.
BATTLE OF BANDS - 2016-17
The battle of the Bands was organized for the first time in school. It was a tough competition where the students displayed their talents in singing and playing the musical instruments. Few groups were eliminated in the knock out stage and finally only six groups got into the finals. Eminent musicians were the judges. Each group had to sing three songs. Two in English, and one in Konkani. The judges were very much impressed with the competition. The school cabinet members under the guidance of Sir Austin and Fr. Anand took the initiative in organizing the show. The trophies were sponsored by three of our retired teachers. 1. Sir Shirish Naik 2. Mrs. Marialena Sequeira, and 3. Mrs. Jyoti Sirsat.
CONSUMER AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Consumer Club of our school organised a Consumer Awareness Programme for the Consumer Club Members. Elocution and Poster making competitions were held on the following topics:

The boys of the Consumer Club also performed a street play. The street play depicted the role and responsibility of a consumer.
FANCY DRESS COMPETITION
Fancy Dress Competition was held for our primary students. The topic was “FREEDOM FIGHTERS”. The students who participated in the competition did a good job with their costumes and in enacting the Freedom Fighters. The competition was organized and sponsored by Junior Herald.
FEAST OF ST. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
The Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola was celebrated on the 31st of July 2017. The Feast Day Mass was held in the school hall. The main celebrant was Fr. Elvino Cardozo. The mass was attended by the PTA members, ex-staff members, ex-students and well-wishers.

Indian National Flag (in preparation for the Independence Day) The members of the staff were happy to see a number of ex-students who came to wish them. The staff met for a small get-together. In the evening, the religious from the neighbouring areas of Mapusa, family members of the Jesuits and well-wishers were invited for a fellowship meal.
