A small group of like-minded philanthropists came together in June 1997 with a specific objective of providing the best of education using the latest tools and technology available to them. They founded SMR Educational Trust that was to be a Not-for-profit Organization. St. Britto's Academy was born to walk tall and achieve great results without a compromise to the quality of the service provided. They wanted the entire curriculum to be child-centered and community oriented. Their focus directed them to spend huge amount of resources, time and energy to ensure that the whole person of every child was transformed to be an excellent being. Therefore, hiring a team of efficient, committed, sincere and well-experienced staff became a paramount task. The beautiful edifice then took its shape with all its infrastructure and facilities. The school strongly believes in the Philosophy that "Every Child is created to be victorious and is an Achiever".

The founder member and Chairman namely, Mr.S. Xavier Britto is here to stay with his wife Mrs. Vimala Britto who is the Correspondent of the school. They believe that their late respected and religious parents Mrs.E.Mary Rajam M.A. (Mother of Mr. Xavier Britto) and Mr. A. Micheal Raj B.A.B.T (Father of Mrs. Vimala Britto) were their source of inspiration. The school was started with Primary classes that are from LKG to class 3. Now it has grown up to class 10 that is affiliated to CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi). At present we have strength of 460 students and 50 staff members. The school is well equipped with a Library, Laboratory (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics), Computer center, Audio-Visual room and a High-Tech Indoor Swimming pool.
